Welcome:

Climate Change
There is little doubt that climate change is taking place, recent events headlining the news show the impact this is having on our every day lives, tropical heat waves, flash flooding, tornadoes and hurricane force winds are breaking all previous records and that's just in the UK.

Whether or not the accelerating climate change is due to a natural cycle of the earths evolution or the effect of our obsession for energy hungry products is something that will be debated for years to come. One thing is for certain the climate is changing and we should be looking to reduce the energy we consume from fossil fuels.

Reducing this carbon footprint doesn't mean we have to comprise our current lifestyle, in fact taking a positive approach can often lead to a more comfortable and convenient lifestyle.

Alternative Solutions
There are a number of alternative solutions which enable us to avoid the use of fossil fuels Solar Energy, Wind and Hydro Power are naturally occurring and of course renewable energy from Biomass materials. Although these energies such as Solar Energy and Wind Power have been around for centuries advances in technology now allow us to harness and use these energies more efficiently.
  • BIOMASS - is organic renewable materials derived from plants or trees or from commercial, industrial, domestic or agricultural products.
  • HYDRO POWER - use of running water to produce useable power, the use of simple water wheels has been used for centuries to power, belt driven machinery in mills, factories etc., modern day use has seen Hydro Electric being produced from huge turbines contributing to our energy needs. Improvements in small Hydro Turbine Generators mean that Micro Hydro Electric schemes are now a viable option for generating electricity.
  • WIND POWER - like hydro power Wind Power has been used for centuries to produce power, one use you are sure to be familiar with from books or pictures, is in flourmills where the large sails of the windmill are driven round by the wind, turning the millers wheel inside to grind corn. Today Wind Turbines capture the wind in there aerodynamic blades to generate electricity. Large scale wind farms are now being used to generate electricity for the national grid. Small scale wind turbines can also be a practical and cost effective solution for individual properties and small developments.
  • SOLAR ENERGY - there are two main areas of Solar Energy, Thermal Solar and Photo-Voltaics (PV Solar).
    • Thermal Solar makes use of the solar radiation from the Sun to use in our homes and offices for heating in one form or another. This is achieved through the use of Solar HotWater Heater Systems that incorporate Flat Plate Solar Collectors (Panels) or Evacuated Tubes along with a solar hot water storage cylinder and for swimming pools unglazed solar pool heater panels are simply incorporated into the existing circulating swimming pool water circuit.
    • Photo-Voltaic (PV Solar) daylight falling on the Photo Voltaic Solar Panel produces electricity to run appliances and lighting via an inverter or store in batteries for future use.
  • HEAT PUMPS - if you have a refrigerator then you've been using a heat pump for years and probably not realised it. A heat pump is like a refrigerator in reverse transferring heat between two sources and very efficiently in most cases. Both Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps systems are alternatives to fossil fuel heating systems and can provide highly efficient sources of heating and cooling for in residential, commercial and industrial buildings all year round.  Air and Ground Collector Heat Pumps also rely on the Sun's energy to provide the main source of energy.

Solar-Resource
Solar Energy is a free, clean, abundant energy without this solar resource life for us just wouldn't exist. At solarpoolheater.co.uk, we focus on products and technologies that allow you to take full advantage of this free, clean, abundant solar energy. Effective use of the solar resource produced by the Sun each day you can reduce your carbon footprint, lower fuel costs, increase comfort & convenience levels and give you the satisfaction of knowing you have control over your energy needs overall enhancing your present lifestyle.
